Make this easy three-ingredient cocktail at your next barbecue or any other summer celebration this year.
With summer entertaining season upon us, we all should have an easy cocktail in our back pocket to make for friends when they come over. Despite the recent NY Times article on how certain spritz drinks, namely the Aperol spritz are bad drinks, I firmly disagree. An Aperol or Campari Spritz is the perfect hot weather cocktail and with only three ingredients anyone can make it.
The difference between Campari and Aperol is that Campari is a bit more bitter and also its alcohol content is a bit higher. As such, I think you run less of a risk of the drink being too sweet as the NYT Cooking described the Aperol spritz. I know, Campari is an Italian apertif. However, I’ll still be serving it at my July 4 celebrations this year. Hey, I am half-Italian after all.
By the way, I’m currently running a giveaway with a fabulous group of ladies on Instagram (the winner will get a $100 Target gift card), so please do check it out.

Make this easy three-ingredient cocktail for your next gathering.
- 3 ounces dry prosecco
- 2 ounces Campari
- 1 ounce club soda
-
Fill a chilled glass (I like the double old fashioned glasses from cb2) with ice, add the prosecco, Campari and club soda. By the way, spritz recipes are usually 3:2:1 ratio - prosecco to apertif to club soda.

Campari Spritz is a well loved drink at my house too! I couldn’t agree more Jenna, it’s perfectly refreshing for summer.😊
